Boholano’s Piskay Jamu Art Exhibition

Capitol University Museum of Three Cultures Art Gallery launched the “Piskay Jamu 3 Art Exhibit” last March 12, 2019 around 1:30 in the afternoon. The event was honored to be celebrated and attended by the City Mayor Oscar Moreno, City Tourism officer Ms. Ave Gladys Gabucan, the Executive Vice President of Capitol University Dr. Fe R. Juarez, Msgr. Tex Legitimas, City Historical Commission staff, collectors, artists, faculty, staff, students and friends.

“This is a window of Bohol’s rich and colorful historical culture and natural heritage..” said Ms. Benz Raquel Dugaduga the coordinator of Capitol University Culture and the Arts during her welcome message.

“Piskay Jamu” which highly superlative expression for Boholanos.  “Piskay is a native Boholano- Visayan word which means “nice.”  “Jamu” a hundred per cent Boholano word which means “very much.” Thus, Piskay Jamu simply means “very nice.”

Piskay Jamu – Cagayan is the third of a series.  It was first staged in Cebu City at the Art Center of SM City Cebu in 2009. The second one was in Bohol in 2017. It highlights the finest Boholano master pieces, depicting retrospective pre-Hispanic and the eras.

Participating artists are Joey Labrador, Rhanths Annunciado, Glenn Lumantao, Glemar Barte, Elvin Perocho Vitor, Gabriel Cafe, Junior Lagura, Paul Nino Inting, Mark Anthony Cartilla, Thon Septimo, Daisylou Manluza, Mai Ytem and Haskel Estillore.

The exhibit runs until April 12, 2019. Gallery hours will be from Mondays – Fridays 9:00AM – 12nn; 1:30-5:00PM; Saturdays 9:00AM – 12nn. For reservations and more details may contact Mr. Nic Aca, the gallery curator, at 09354334422 or 864-8865 local no. 7751.
