 With the goal of establishing and enshrining the undeniable significant role of Student Affairs and Services in all Higher Education Institutions, the Philippine Association of Practitioners of Student Affairs and Services (PAPSAS), Inc. conducted a 3-day seminar with the theme “Student Affairs and Services Practitioners: Creating Innovative Pathways in the light of Outcome-Based Learning” last May 15 – 19, 2019 at Hotel Centro, Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan, Philippines.

 The seminar which was attended by student affairs and services practitioners from private HEI’s, SUC’s and LUC’s all over the country featured relevant talks from prominent individuals such as Dr. Elias M. Sampa, Curriculum and Programs Director at Australian International School and Australian Institute for Higher Education, and Atty. Antonio Chua, Legal Management Program Coordinator at University of Santo Tomas. Furthermore, the event included paper presentations from student affairs practitioners on various areas like student welfare services, student development services, and institutional student programs and services.

CU’s Director of Student Affairs and Services, Mr. Mark Raymond S. Tan, presented his research paper entitled, “Exploring Student Interest in Co- and Extra-Curricular Activities: The Case of a Private Higher Education Institution” during the Philippine Association of Practitioners of Student Affairs and Services (PAPSAS), Inc. 24th Annual National Convention last May 15 – 17, 2019 at Hotel Centro in Palawan.

             His study which was descriptive and exploratory in nature explored the factors and dynamics of student interest in co- and extra-curricular activities in one private higher education institution in Cagayan de Oro City.
