For the first time, the Capitol University Basic Education Department (CUBED) celebrated the Philippines-Japan Friendship day last July  , 2012 at the school covered court.

Four Japanese male students from Soka University (SU) attended the celebration. Japanese song singing contest and Japanese Quiz Bee were held.

“It’s a great experience for us to have a chance to promote friendship between CU and SU” Yoshiaki Hayashi said, a student from SO.

Two students stood out in the competition. Easter Glory San Pedro, a 7th grade student, won champion in the Japanese Song Singing Contest and Arvie Galvez, a third year high school student in Japanese quiz bee. The two successfully competed in the interschool competition held at CU Multipurpose Hall.

San Pedro won as over-all champion while Galvez ended 4th in the competition.

The celebration was organized by the Young Herodotus Club.
