CU Guidance Counselors Participate in the 3rd National Career Advocacy Congress

Dr. Eleanor Buot, Ph.D., RGC, President of the Career Guidance Network of Region 10 and the Internal Vice President, Ms. Josie Insigne, RGC were among the region’s seven (7)-man delegation recommended by the Department of Labor and Employment Region 10 to the 3rdNational Career Advocacy Congress held last 26-27,May 2016 at MIDAS Hotel, Pasay City.The two-day event provided a venue for the guidance counselors, career advocates, and various stakeholders up-to-date labor market trends and advances in the practice of guidance and counseling profession and career advocacy.

Federation of Career Guidance Advocates Network of the Philippines, Inc Elects Dr. Buot as P.I.O

 Dr. Eleanor Buot, Ph.D., RGC, (7th from right) Head of the CU Guidance Center and President of the Career Guidance Network of Region 10 was elected PIO of the Federation of Career Guidance Advocates Network of the Philippines, Inc. (FCGANP, an Organization of Network of Career Guidance Advocates in the country) last May 26, 2016 at Midas Hotel,Pasay City.

The Oath Taking Ceremony of the Officers of the Federation of Career Guidance Advocates Network of the Philippines, Inc was conducted in the 27th of May in the second day of the said event with Hon.Katherine B.Brimon, DOLE Asst. Secretary,as the inducting officer.

IBC TV-13 Interviews CU Guidance Head during the 3rd NCAC

Dr. Eleanor Yap- Buot was interviewed by the IBC TV-13 during the 3rd National Career Advocacy Congress. The interview was done in the first day of the congress right after the Open Forum where Dr. Buot voiced out the concerns and issues of the Northern Mindanao Guidance Counselors and Career Advocates.

Capitol University Guidance Center and CGN10 Spearhead the 4th Guidance and Counseling Enhancement Seminar

The Capitol University Guidance Center Head and currently the President of the Career Guidance Network of  Region 10, Dr. Eleanor Y. Buot, chaired the organizing committee of  the 4th Guidance and Counseling Enhancement Seminar held  last  May 25-29, 2016at  the CU AVR. She was assisted by her co-chairperson, Ms. Josie Z.Insigne, CU Guidance Counselor and  the Vice President External of the CGN 10; the CGN10 Treasurer Mr. Lenard Lachica, CU Guidance Counselor of the College of Maritime Education; Dr. Mariedeth Simbajon, CU Psychometrician; and Dr. Michelle Atay, CU Basic Education Counselor. The activity was participated by Guidance Counselors from the different provinces and cities of Region 10.  The resource speaker was Dr.Oliver Sta Ana, one of the top-notchersof the first licensure exam for Guidance Counselors.

Capitol University Guidance CenterFacilitate the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Seminar-Workshop

Capitol University Guidance Center in coordination with the Career Guidance Network of Region 10 and DOLE 10 facilitated the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Seminar-Workshop last February 15, 2016 from 8:00A.M – 5:00 P.M. at the CU AVR. The said activity was intended to up-date Guidance Counselors with the recent trends and techniques of cognitive behavioral therapy with Ms.Lylle N.Ducoy, former CU Guidance Counselor and currently a Canadian Registered Psychotherapist as resource person. The seminar-workshop was participated by Guidance Counselors coming from the various provinces and cities of Region 10.

CU Guidance Head, Preside the CGN-DOLE 10 Quarterly Meeting

Dr. Eleanor Yap-Buot, head of the Capitol University Guidance Center and currently the President of the Career Guidance Network of Region 10 presided the CGN-DOLE 10 meeting held at the NHotel, Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City last May 24,2016.Participants were the officers of the CGN 10 and the chapter officers of Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental,Ozamis, Iligan City and Bukidnon.DOLE region 10 was represented byMs. Yoradyl Dawn Salapangthe labor employment officer.

CU CME Guidance Counselor Attends “Training of Facilitatorson Child Sexual Abuse”

Mr.Lenard Lachica, CU CME Guidance Counselor attended the “Training of Facilitators on Child Sexual Abuse” from April 18-22, 2016 at Philtown Hotel. The 5-day training was spearheaded by the World Vision Development Foundation of Northern Mindanao, an international humanitarian organization in partnership with the MALISA HOME Inc., an NGO that provides  home to children who are survivors of sexual trafficking and the Stairway Foundation,Inc.

Capitol University Guidance Counselors Facilitate the 3rd Regional Career and Employment Research Congress

Capitol University Guidance Center in coordination with the Career Guidance Network of Region 10 and DOLE 10 facilitated the 3rdRegional Career and Employment Research Congress last December 4,2015 at the Grand Caprice,Limketkai,Cagayan de Oro City.Participants and research presenters were Guidance Counselors, teachers, and researchers in Region 10. Dr.Melanie Raleigh Brown, researcher from Monash University,Melbourne Australia and CU Graduate School visiting professor, highlighted the event with her in-puts on qualitative research. Dr. Luvismin S.Aves, former VPAA of CU and Dir.Salvador A. Aves,former Director of NSO region 10 served as panel members in this event.

CUGC Spearheads 7thAnnual Convention and Capacity Building for Career Counselors and Career Advocates of Region 10

In coordination with the Department of Labor Region 10,Dr. Eleanor Yap-Buot, Head of the CU Guidance Center (CUGC) and currently the President of the Career Guidance Network of Region 10 hosted the 7thAnnual Convention and Capacity Building for Career Counselors and Career Advocates of Region 10 last November 12-13, 2015 at the Grand Caprice, Limketkai Cagayan de Oro City.She was ably assisted by her co-chairperson, Ms. Josie Z.Insigne, CU Guidance Counselor for the College of Nursing, Education, Criminology and Computer Studies and the Vice President External of the CGN 10 together with Mr. Lenard Lachica CU Guidance Counselor of the College of Maritime Education and at the same time the CGN10 Treasurer. The activity was participated by the Career Counselors and Career Advocates coming from the different provinces and cities of Northern Mindanao.

MSU-Marawi Graduate School Benchmarks with CU Guidance Center

Capitol University Guidance Center welcomed the Mindanao State University-Marawi Guidance & Counseling graduate school students who came for benchmarking last November 6, 2015. Dr. Eleanor Buot, the Guidance Head together with the Psychometrician Dr. Mariedeth Simbajon accommodated the said visitors. Dr. Buot presented to them the Guidance Programs especially the recent office innovations relative to the online or E-services that the office is proud of.

CU- ON LINE STUDENT EVALUATION OF INSTRUCTOR

The CU- On Line Student Evaluation of Instructor (CU-OLSEI), a new evaluation system of monitoring  performance of faculty members  will be launched this  September 2014. It is hoped that through this system, evaluation process will be easier, quicker , more accurate , reliable and economical.

Other CU quality monitoring processes such as Dean’s evaluation, Student Personnel Services, non-teaching staff evaluation will be also conducted on-line.

2ND NATIONAL CAREER ADVOCACY CONGRESS

Dr. Eleanor Buot, Ph.D., RGC, President of the Career Guidance Network of Region 10 and the  Vice President, Mrs. Josie Insigne, RGC  were recommended by the  Department Of Labor and Employment   10  as  members of the region’s seven (7)-man delegation  to  the 2nd National Career Advocacy Congress  held  last  29-30 May 2014, MIDAS Hotel , Manila.
